A Lifetime of Service to Indiana and Miami County
Brent Ingram isn’t new to Miami County—this is home.
Raised by parents who taught him honesty, integrity, and the value of hard work, Brent has spent his entire life serving others. His father, Horace, was a Chrysler retiree and deacon who taught Brent the principles and price of leadership. His mother, Judy, worked multiple jobs while keeping the family together. Their lesson was simple: Do what’s right.
Brent has been married to his high school sweetheart, Kathy, for 45 years. She’s a retired Respiratory Therapist. They raised two children in Indiana—his daughter Heidi lives in Greenwood with her three children and works as an EEG Technician at Franciscan Hospital. His son Caleb, who passed away in 2023, was Brent’s “wingman.”
Brent’s grandparents worked at Chrysler, LeMaster Greenhouse, and as coal miners and farmers. His roots in working-class Indiana run deep. Miami County has always been good to him—as a child and as an adult—and now he’s ready to give back as your sheriff.

Brent’s commitment to service extends beyond his badge—through his church, his community involvement, and his dedication to conservative values.
From his parents, Brent learned honesty.
From his father, a deacon, he learned the principles and price of leadership—and to do right.
From three decades in law enforcement and life, Brent learned: to walk beside those going through trouble, to be honest and transparent, to be compassionate, to defend the law and the weak, as a lion defends her cubs, and to do what is right.
